In 1977 Kenner and Lucasfilm became partners in one of the most lucrative merchandising deals of all time creating the most recognizable toy brand in the history of the world.

From 1977 through 1985 Kenner produced Star Wars toys from all 3 of the original films as well as the Ewoks and Droids cartoons. However when interest in the brand started to fade in the mid to late 1980's Kenner stopped manufacturing new Star Wars toys completely.

Kenner was bought by Tonka in 1987 and then by Hasbro in 1991 later to be absorbed by them completely in 1999.

Vintage Star Wars toys made by Kenner from the 1970's and 1980's are some of the most sought after toys to this day and command a high market value among collectors.
